Another round of school strikes is planned by the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation, and Renfrew County part of that list.
High school teachers will walk off the job on Wednesday January 8th for one day. Renfrew County District School Board as a result will close all its high schools and kindergarten classes on that day. They also say that night school, all co-op placesments and Dual credit programs will be cancelled for the day, as well as any extracurricular activities that are scheduled. The action does not affect Kindergarten classes at Whitney Public School.
In addition, teachers from the École élémentaire et secondaire publique L’Équinoxe in Pembroke will walk off the job as well. The federation has cited a lack of movement on key issues as the cause of the walk-out.
The Federation announced a new round of rotating strikes on January 3rd.
