A 54 year old Pembroke resident reported missing has been found deceased.
The missing person failed to return home on December 20th after walking her dog, which had returned on its own. Police say that dog and foot tracks were found near open water on the Indian River around Chrsitie and McGee streets in Pembroke. OPP Underwater search and Recovery unit recovered the body from the river.
The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Patricia Smith of Pembroke. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death, which is suspected to be drowning. Foul play is not suspected.
