After a long construction season, the City of Pembroke says some streets are beginning to open up.

The city says Victoria Street between Lake and Pembroke Street West is now open to traffic. A temporary stop sign has been placed for traffic turning onto Pembroke Street West. However the stretch of Victoria street between Pembroke Street West and the Library will remain closed to all traffic until further notice. The city says pedestrians will still have access and are asked to follow posted signage. Access to the Library and the Active Living center is through Renfrew and Isabella street.

In addition, the city says that Moffat and Mackay streets will remained closed until December 20th. They say only emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed access. They also say the Mary Street Bridge will remained closed to all traffic and detours will be in place. River road and Mackay street they say will be open to all traffic.

The city wanted to thank the public for their patience, and says they regret any inconvenience to residents and businesses.
