Project Welcome Gets Apartment Donation

An Ottawa based investor has stepped up and donated the use of an apartment building to Project Welcome.
Ashraf Arif owns several properties in Pembroke and was drawn to help bring Syrian refugees to the area.
His donation is for one year of free rent while living in one of his properties.
It is a big help to Project Welcome as it covers one of the largest expenses when bringing over refugees.
Arif has been in Pembroke since 2004 and knows all too well what it is like to come here as a refugee.
He immigrated to Canada from Kuwait during the Gulf War in the early 90s.
