OPP Investigating Hunting Incident on Siberia Road

A hunting incident is being investigated by Killaloe OPP.

On October 8th around 3:30 PM, police responded to a report of an injured person on Siberia Road. A 40-year-old had received a gunshot wound in the incident. He has been taken to hospital and remains in serious condition. OPP’s Renfrew Crime Unit are investigating and are being assisted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

As a result of the investigation, the Renfrew Crime Unit has arrested and charged a 35 year old man from the Madawaska Valley. He has been charged with careless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.  The accused was released on the promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Killaloe. His court date is November 13th.
