Area Schools May Be Combining

The Renfrew County District School Board is once again looking into combining a few schools in the area.
The Board of Trustees has approved a motion to move forward with an Accommodation Review on both Westmeath and Madawaska Public School.
The review could lead to Westmeath joining Beachburg Public School and Madawaska Public School with the Madawaska Valley District high school.
Currently Sherwood Public School is already combined with the high school.
An open public consultation is scheduled for April 14th and a final staff report will be released on April 29th.
A final report is expected by the end of May.
