Renfrew MP Cheryl Gallant has been elected as Vice-Chair to the Standing Committee on National Defence.
This was announced this week in a press release on her website.
Gallant has been on the Standing Committee since she was elected to Parliament in 2000.
She sees the appointment as an opportunity to hold the Liberal Government accountable for the choices it makes relating to National Defence.
According to the release, Gallant plans to use the new position to ensure we continue to meet our potential as a globally strategic defence partner.
Gallant is also the chair of the Canada NATO Parliamentary Association.
