Rash of Domestic Disputes in Early September

Early September saw Killaloe OPP receive a spike of domestic dispute calls.

The force says that they were called to nine disputes between the dates of September 3rd to the 14th. 4 of these disputes lead to domestic assault charges.

Two charges took place on September 3rd. The first was reported in South Algonquin Township around 11 AM. Police arrested a 48 year old and was charged with two counts of domestic assault. The second case occurred at 12 PM at a residence in Bonnechere Valley. A 33 year old from Laurentian Valley was arrested and charged with domestic mischief and breach of a peace bond. Both of the accused were released and will appear in court in Killaloe on October 9th.

On September 8th, another disturbance was reported in Bonnechere Valley Township around 12:30 PM. Policed arrested a 31 year old from Bonnechere Valley and charged with domestic mischief and domestic assault. The accused was held pending a bail hearing in Pembroke. A final disturbance was reported in South Algonquin Township on September 14th around 2 PM. A 28 year old was arrested and charged with domestic assault as a result of the investigation. The accused was released on a promise to appear in court on November 13th in Killaloe.

In all four assaults, the accused was not named to protect the identity of the victim.
