Renfrew OPP Extending Hours for Vulnerable Sector Checks

Volunteers for local schools and minor hockey will have more time to get background checks.

Renfrew OPP says they will be extending the hours for parents who need vulnerable sector checks to apply. Local school volunteers will be able to apply for checks on September 17th at the Renfrew Detachment and September 25th at the Arnprior Detachment. Both locations hours will be from 4 PM until 7 PM. Renfrew OPP says that the hours are only extended for those who are volunteering at local schools. Applicants must have a request record from the school and the proper paperwork. OPP says that no other checks will be taken this time.

OPP also says they will be extending their hours on October 1st from 4 to 8 PM for those looking for volunteers of minor hockey to do vulnerable sector checks. OPP says they will be doing checks only for minor hockey and will not process any other request.

OPP reminds residents that checks will only be done in townships in their area. These townships include Renfrew, Anrprior, Admaston/Bromley, Horton, McNab/Braeside, Greater Madawaska and the White Water Region.
