OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Greenwood Road.
The force was called out Wednesday around 3 PM. According to reports a pickup truck and SUV collided west of Beachburg Road. OPP says the driver of the SUV was attempting to merge on to Greenwood Road from Beachburg going westbound when it collided with the truck going eastbound. The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. The drivers were lone occupants of their vehicles, which OPP said were severely damaged. They say the collision caused traffic delays in the area for around an hour.
The 78 year old driver of the SUV has been charged with careless driving. Police believe distracted driving was a contributing factor to the collision.
