Horton Chief Administrative Officer Mackie McLaren intends on retiring this year.
He is considering October 31st as his last day at the position.
Horton Council has approved a motion to advertise for his position in March with a closing date of April 15th.
They hope that the idea candidate can work with, and shadow McLaren for a time before taking over.
They are starting the search early to avoid any gap in filling the position.
According to the Municipal Act, every municipality must have a clerk appointed.
