A fundraiser for a young child who drowned in the Petawawa River has broken its record.
Lynn Mailloux Foley organized a GoFundMe fundraiser for the family of Mason Ryan, who was reported dead on Sunday. Ryan fell into the river while walking along it and was recovered by an adult. The fundraiser says he left behind a mother and father, and two siblings. Foley said in the fundraiser bio that the family does not have any insurance to cover the cost of laying their child to rest.
The fundraising total was set at $8500. At the time of writing, the GoFundMe has risen over $10,000. The fundraiser described Ryan as energetic and loving, and loved being in nature.
