Uptick in Motor Vehicle Collisions for Killaloe OPP

The roads were busy for Killaloe OPP this past week.

The force reported nineteen motor vehicle collisions with only 3 being animal-related.

Two major accidents occurred on the 29th. One was a two vehicle collision on Schutt Road in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township. A woman from Washago was charged with following too closely as a result of the investigation and issued a Provincial Offenses notice. No injuries or tow was required. Another accident occurred on highway 60 in South Algonquin Township. The driver of a passenger car lost control and veered off into a ditch. A male from Peterborough was charged with careless driving. He was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The long weekend also proved to be busy for Killaloe OPP. An ATV collision on Sacred Heart Road on Monday sent the 53-year-old operator to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No tow was required and no charges were laid. OPP also executed a long weekend campaign targeting drivers who failed to move over. In all 2 seat-belt charges, 10 HTA moving violations and one marine vessel charge was laid, as well as 49 for speeding.
