UPDATE: The fire was extinguished Tuesday Afternoon
MNRF is reporting a small forest fire in the Laurentian Valley
The blaze is located north of Round Lake Road and West of Pembroke. The Ministry says the fire is around the area north of Alice, close to Flat Iron Lake.

As of noon, the fire is said to be active but under control. The approximate size is estimated to be less than a hectare. Reports state the fire began Monday around 5 PM.
A number of burn bans have be implemented in Renfrew County and Hastings Highlands. The Madawaska Valley is currently under a level 1 fire ban.
