Ottawa has advised Renfrew County that they will not be renewing the municipal billing agreement with them for emergency services.
This would mean that Renfrew County would not be reimbursed for Paramedic calls in rural Ottawa.
The Ministry of Health states that the closest paramedic has to respond to an emergency call.
Last year, Renfrew County Paramedics responded to around 16 hundred calls to the outer edges of Ottawa.
Warden Peter Emon is collecting information and planning on approaching other communities that border Ottawa.
He is hoping for a coordinated approach to the city to work out a solution.
