Boil Advisories in Algonquin Park Reduced to One

A series of advisories has turned into just one.

Although there is still a boil water advisory for the campground taps at Mew Lake, park staff are saying that the other advisories at Pog Lake, Lake of Two Rivers, the Two Rivers Store, and Canisbay Lake campground have been lifted.

All of the sites along Highway 60 in the south of the park were under advisories because of high levels of bacteria in the water for those sites. Park officials say that consuming water with high bacteria counts can lead to stomach issues and other issues.

With Mew Lake’s taps still under a boil advisory, the park suggests that you use your own water or boil the tap water for at least one minute before you use it.

They say that you can also get water from other parts of the park until the advisory is lifted.
