A motion to bring an electric charging station to downtown Arnprior has been turned down by council.
Members of council remarked that it was a premature proposal and too costly for taxpayers.
There was a proposal to apply for a $200,000 grant for a phase two and phase three charging station in the municipal parking lot.
The cost to the town would have been close to $20,000 over five years.
If installed, a vehicle would be able to charge for an estimated $15.
