Renfew District Health Unit is offering a new pilot for breastfeeding services.

The facility is opening in Pembroke to support breastfeeding mothers in the area. The pilot will provide one-on-one support and counselling with a registered nurse and a breastfeeding specialist. Space at the West Champlain Family Health Team is being volunteered for the pilot. People participating in the pilot do not need to be members of the WCFHT. The service is completely open to the public. The pilot is headed by Dr Fahamia Koudra.

Renfrew District Health says the pilot will take place at 315 Pembroke Street East July 8th and 15th. The clinic will be open form 9 AM till 12 PM. After this, the pilot will be reviewed. The Unit hopes to support this initiative in the future if the pilot is successful.
