Pembroke council is looking into a needle disposal program in the city.
The concern was brought up during budget discussions by the Mayor.
The issue of used needles being found around the city has become a concern for him.
The program would cost the city $21,000 to help with disposal of the needles.
Public education is also earmarked within the money.
Council says it wants to get further breakdown of how the money will be spent.
The program will be kept on the budget until it is finalized this month.
