Renfrew County now has a lead agency to supply child and youth mental health services.
The Phoenix Centre will be responsible to ensure children’s mental health services are available to youth and families in the Valley.
A press release says that the Centre will also work with Family and Children’s Services, School Boards, Addiction Services, Police and Health Services in the county.
Lead agencies have been identified in 31 of 33 service areas across Ontario as a key component of the Moving on Mental Health plan.
The initiative was put into motion by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services last year.
