Barry’s Bay BIA Talks Planters, Bay Day Debrief

Barry’s Bay BIA met for the first time since it put on Bay Day.

The meeting recapped the events of the event. Members said there was a buzz for the event they had never experienced before. They enjoyed the spin towards family and locals and said many businesses on Opeongo had a boost in sales. Initial talks of improvements to the event were discusses, including changes to the vehicle show.

Looking forward, a focus of the meeting was on the plant decorations slated to go up around the town. Discussion on how often to maintain them dominated the conversation. Summer students have been hired on to maintain them once they’ve been hung. In addition there was talk about putting work into various parkettes around town. Ideas were also swapped for future tourist attractions in Barry’s Bay.
