Over 1000 People at Bay Day Peak

At one point, over a thousand people were on Opeongo Line for Bay Day.

Event organizer Marcia Rutledge hailed the event as a great success. She felt the turnout was great, and was happy that the sour weather held off until the afternoon.

When asked if Rutledge wanted to come back to organize Bay Day again next year, she gave a very enthusiastic yes. She’s says the number of people who gave her positive feedback made it good to organize it. The variety of things to do for everyone pleased a lot of attendees. She also says that having something to to look forward to for the spring would be nice as well.

When asked if there was anything to Bay Day she would like to add, Rutledge said she would like to expand to make the event a vehicle show and not just a vintage car show. She’d also talk to the company who provided the bouncy castle to find something for older kids to enjoy as well.

The festival saw two new businesses open. The Train Station and Madawaska Coffee opened its doors to the public that Saturday.
