A local teen is missing after entering the Petawawa River.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Constable Shawn Peever says that the 17-year-old girl was from the Petawawa area. He says they received a call just after 4:00 yesterday afternoon. He says that witnesses observed the female enter the Petawawa River from the rail bridge. Police say the teen was reported missing that evening.
As of this afternoon, Peever says the OPP has their Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) as well as a helicopter from their Aviation Service Unit, on the lookout.
