The Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarian’s program is now available to Renfrew County residents.

The Province has announced that it is offering the program to homeowners who were affected by flooding. This comes after the declaration of state of emergency made by several municipalities within the County including Whitewater Region, McNab/Braeside, Horton, Laurentian Valley, Greater Madawaska and Petawawa.

Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Steve Clark, says that he wants Ontarian’s to know that the government stands with them during this natural disaster. “I want to thank municipal staff, emergency responders and volunteers for their tremendous response efforts and dedication” he says.

The Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarian’s program will help cover emergency expenses to repair or replace the costs of essential property not covered by insurance. The Province says that it applies to a small business, farm or not-for-profit organization.

They say residents have until August 27th to apply. For more information and guidelines and to apply, click here.
