Free Sunflower Seeds Up For Grabs

Cheerios is giving away sunflower seeds to Canadians through it’s Bring Back The Bees campaign. This marks the fourth year for the program and over 900 million seeds have been handed out to date. The goal is 520,000 seed packs across Canada this year.

VP of Marketing for General Mills Emma Eriksson says it’s such an important issue for humans because one in three bites of food that we eat is made possible by bees and other pollinators.

She says the company has an obligation to take action and engage Canadians about declining bee populations.

Eriksson says the focus is on kids this year and getting youth involved because if there’s going to be a long-term solution, having the next generation be championships for bees is so important.

The seed will be available until the end of May. People can click here https://www.cheerios.ca/freeseeds/ and fill out their name and address to get their free sunflower seeds through the mail.
