Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning in effect for:

  • Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
  • Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
  • Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie

They say there will be another significant rainfall Friday.

They add that rain, heavy at times, will move into Central and Eastern Ontario overnight Thursday night and continue into Friday evening. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 millimetres are forecast by late Friday night. Local amounts exceeding 50 mm are possible. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.

They say that flood messaging is in effect for much of Central and Eastern Ontario. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District office.

This heavy rain is associated with a Texas low that will track across Southern Ontario on Friday.
