A 22-year-old Petawawa woman crashes into a bank.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Constable Shawn Peever says they responded to a call on Tuesday morning about a collision involving a car and a bank. The crash happened in a parking lot on Petawawa Boulevard when the driver accidentally accelerated into the building.
Peever says significant damage was caused but no charges were laid. He adds that the incident happened due to a pedal misapplication by the driver and since it happened on private property and the intention was not to accelerate, charges won’t be laid under the Highway Traffic Act.
He says there’s no estimate on the total cost of the damage but he adds that it was significant.
