The man who murdered Dan Pietersma and severely injured his wife has received a life sentence.
Brian Goddard entered a guilty plea as his trail was just getting under way earlier this month.
Goddard attacked Pietersma and his wife in their home in June 2013.
He also seriously injured Emma Guthrie in a nearby home.
Along with the life sentence, Goddard was handed 14 years for the attack on Pietersma’s wife and six years for attacking Guthrie.
His sentences will be served concurrently and he will not be eligible for parole until he is 44.
