After Funk is Coming to Make You Dance

After Funk will surely make you dance tomorrow night.

Those are the words from drummer Jaime Rosenberg who says it’s the group’s first time playing in the Madawaska Valley. Hailing from Toronto, the band will be embarking on a North American tour this month which will take them across Canada and down to California. Rosenberg says that the cherry on the sundae will be playing at the RBC Blues Fest in Ottawa on July 13.

But before the big stage, the band will be in Wilno. Rosenberg says “it feels nice to play in small communities because people are so appreciative”. He points out that in large cities such as Montreal, Toronto or New York City, people can catch a good show every night, it’s not the same crowd, which makes it extra special to play to an audience that truly appreciates the act.

He says their set list will definitely make you dance. It’ll vary from songs off of their three albums, as well as covers. “We like to add our own spin on classics, we cover Rush, The Beatles, and Elton John” he says.

After Funk will be playing tomorrow night at 8:00 at the Wilno Tavern. “It’s going to be a high energy, fun, dance party” and although the show is on a Thursday night he says “it’ll feel like a Saturday night, so we’re just extending your weekend”.
