The Renfrew OPP has reported that they have charged a 27-year-old man from Horton Township with twelve counts of fraud under $5000.

They say they’ve spent multiple months investigating the case, which started in January of this year. They say they started working on the case when an officer got information of the accused who was posting items for sale on the internet. Once the items were paid for, the man would not give the buyer the purchased goods. The man was held for a bail hearing, at the Ontario court of Justice in Pembroke on March 20, 2019.

Police are saying to be vigilant when buying online. Using a secure way of payment is a must or else they suggest you provide the money once you are in possession of the item. For in-person transactions, they say that you should meet in a public place.
