A Dysart et al man has died following a snowmobile crash.
It happened Saturday just after noon in Hastings Highlands on the E109 snowmobile trail. The trail was closed for five hours during the initial investigation.
Bancroft OPP Officers and members of the Hastings Paramedic Services went to the crash scene just off of Highway 127. The man, 67-year-old Gordon Scheffee, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP says a Technical Collision Investigator and a Reconstructionist member of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
The cause of the crash is not known and still under investigation. An autopsy will be done today.
This is the first fatal motor vehicle collision in the Bancroft OPP detachment area in 2019.
