The OPP want your support in helping our local athletes.

Constable Tina Hunt of the Renfrew OPP says they’d like you to join them on Monday morning to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Special Olympics Movement.

The celebration will feature a flag raising ceremony which will include Renfrew OPP Officers, Inspector Colin Slight, members of the Knights of Columbus and local athletes who have qualified for the inaugural Invitational Youth Games from Arnprior District High School.

She says that the ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at the OPP’s Renfrew Detachment. Hunt also adds that community members now have the chance to sponsor an athlete or make any kind of donation that they would like in the hopes of raising $50 000 in 24 hours province wide.
