January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in the Valley and the program is going well.
Ottawa and Renfrew County Program Coordinator Linda LeDuc says that the program has helped to raise awareness in the area.
She is also reminding anyone suffering with symptoms to reach out early.

Stigma surrounding the disease has been one of her biggest challenges.
By raising awareness she hopes to attract more people to her office that may need support.
As many as 11,000 people in Renfrew County are living with the disease, but are not seeking the Alzheimer’s Society out.
