Get ready to see some art pop up in your Renfrew County municipality this summer.
That’s because the Pop Up Art exhibit will be travelling around Renfrew County. Project Coordinator and Curator Anya Gansterer says that the exhibit will feature art from 11 different Renfrew County artists. She says that it’ll be travelling to Barry’s Bay, Eganvillle, Petawawa, Renfrew, Arnprior and Deep River where it’ll stay for several weeks.
She says one of their intentions was to have art pop up in unlikely places and adds that “you shouldn’t go out of your way to have an art experience”. Gansterer says the goal is to make that experience accessible to everyone in Renfrew County.
The exhibit was put together in partnership by the Ottawa Valley Creative Arts Open Studio (OV-CAOS) and the Community Resource Centre in Killaloe.
She says that she hopes they’ll start a trend in order to provide local art shows for Renfrew County communities. She says that having art in our lives is a big component of having a healthy community. For more information on the artists and dates, click here.
