Funding for the revamp of Petawawa Boulevard is pending.
The County of Renfrew says that a meeting was held on March 11th with many key players to give the project the green light including Warden of the County of Renfrew Jennifer Murphy, Operations Committee Chair Tom Peckett and Development and Property Committee Chair Bob Sweet among others. The Honourable Monte McNaughton, Minister of Infrastructure was also on the conference call and said that a funding announcement for Government funding was pending and that details about the application process would be follow.
They say the expansion of the boulevard is identified as a top priority as it is the busiest road in Renfrew County’s Road network. They say that it can reach a peak of 1,400 vehicles hourly and 16,700 vehicles daily.
They add that the expansion project would provide 150 construction jobs should it be accepted. For more information, click here.
