Madawaska Valley District High School (MVDHS) and Sherwood Public School are inviting you to a night at the movies.

Grade 12 student and member of MVDHS’s Student Activity Council, Brooke-Lyn Lundy says they’ll be putting on a free movie night tomorrow in the school’s cafeteria.

Lundy says the school will be showing off its new state-of-the-art sound system and big screen and adds that they’ll be placing mats on the floor for the comfort of younger audience members.

She says that donations will be accepted at the door which will go to the St Francis Memorial Hospital. Money raised from their canteen (popcorn, drinks and snacks) will go to both MVDHS and Sherwood Public School. The elementary school is raising money for a field trip while the high school plans on using it to put on more student and community activities.

Lundy says that it’s important for them to focus on community based fundraisers. She says that just in the fall they had a turkey dinner event and a snowsuit drive with the money raised going back to the community. She says that it’s not stopping as they’re now planning a trivia night for the month of April.

The movie is Disney’s Incredibles 2 and it starts at 6:30 tomorrow night in the Madawaska Valley District High School cafeteria, free of charge.
