Update: Environment Canada upgrades Winter Storm Watch to Warning

The Madawaska Valley is expecting to see a lot of snow today and tomorrow.

Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Tuesday and Wednesday. The organization says we could see between 30  and 40 centimeters of snow falling mostly tonight, with more snow during the day on Wednesday before it begins to taper off.

With the snow, Environment Canada says we could also see strong winds gusting to 60 kilometers per hour which will cause reduced visibilities and blowing snow.

It says the snow is associated with a Colorado low that will cross through the region during that time.

Environment Canada warns drivers that the rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. It says you should continue to monitor its alerts and forecasts.
