A New Door is Opening in Barry’s Bay

A new store is opening in downtown Barry’s Bay.

Owner of Church Street Flowers, Pam McNichol, says that Barry’s Bay was the perfect location for the store’s community minded approach. She says that 80% to 95% of the store’s products will be locally sourced (from Renfrew County or Ottawa Valley). She says the store, who already has a branch in Pembroke, is very successful with this approach already.

McNichol says that their focus is community over competition. She emphasizes the fact that when you buy from the store, you’re buying local twice. She says you’re supporting 2 local families. She’s pretty confident that the store will do well. Her products are said to be of outstanding quality “we pay more but we get products that last weeks, not days”.

Although she says the store’s grand opening is on February 12th, they are currently accepting pre-orders by phone. Community members are encouraged to drop in on Tuesday, they are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 19512 Opeongo Line (beside the old Dixie Lee). For more information, click here.
