Two thieves are caught shoplifting and arrested the same day.
Constable Shawn Peever of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says that last Thursday January 24th the OPP responded to a call from a large retail store in Laurentian Township where staff reported that a male and female suspect stole a significant amount of electronics, clothes and food.
He says that same afternoon the OPP located and stopped the vehicle in West End Pembroke where both occupants were arrested and the stolen good were recovered. Peever adds that the total value of the stolen goods was in the thousands of dollars.
He adds that the male and female suspects were charged for theft under $5000 – shoplifting, contrary to the Criminal Code. They were released on promise to appear in court on February 19, 2019.
