Pembroke’s Algonquin College Dean Retires
After 13 years, Karen Davies is retiring.
The Dean of Algonquin College has announced she is retiring from her role at the College’s Pembroke Campus.
Jamie Bramburger, who will serve as Acting Dean, says Algonquin College has improved a lot during her stay. He says the building of the Waterfront Campus (in 2012) will definitely be a defining moment in her career due to the significant impact it’s had on the College and the City of Pembroke. He says she took control of the advocacy and the funding of the project. Under her reign student enrolments have grown exponentially, topping 1000 full-time students in 2017.
“I think she represents someone that’s approachable and committed to the College and the community” he says before saying that she was a wonderful Dean that will be missed.
Bramburger adds that this week will be her last and that he’ll serve as interim dean while the College appoints its new Dean.
