The former treasurer of the Rankin Culture and Recreation Centre has been sentenced to nine months in jail for fraud and breach of trust.
Kathleen Thur has also been ordered to repay over $41,000Â back that she took over a 16-month period.
Current treasurer Dawnalda Siegel says the Eganville Rec Centre was hurt in more ways than one.
She also pointed out the loss of faith from the community is making it difficult to fundraise, and knows that it may be a long time before the trust returns.
This wasn’t Thur’s first brush with the law for theft.
In 2000, Thur was found guilty on 19 counts of fraud.
