Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning that will affect Renfrew County.

The statement says:

“Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

A few hours of freezing rain are expected this afternoon or this evening ahead of a warm front approaching from the southwest.

Precipitation will change over to rain or a mix of rain and wet snow in the wake of the front later tonight.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.”
