The Barry’s Bay BIA has a new Chairman.

Derek Yuill has accepted the reigns of the position formerly held by Ted Williamson, who had been Chairman for the last four years.

Williamson says he’s proud of the many beautification projects the BIA has put together over the last few years. He says those projects include the hanging flower baskets, the ground planters and the 32 banners that are hanging on telephone and hydro poles through out the community.

For his part, Yuill says the BIA is big part of the community and that he plans to fill Williamson’s “big” shoes in order to keep on putting Barry’s Bay on the map. He says that in the future, they want to continue to make the community grow. He points out that the area depends on tourism and that he wants people to come and enjoy Barry’s Bay.

The next BIA meeting will be held on February 27th at 4:00PM at the Madawaska Valley Township Municipal Office.
