A Pembroke planing mill released a statement after a massive fire erupted causing extensive damage and power outage to the city.
President Eddie Heideman of Lavern Heideman and Sons Limited said they are grateful to all of the first responders that were on site last Wednesday night after a fire broke out around 8:10. He adds that he is relieved there were no injuries to any employees or emergency personnel.
The statement also says that the Pembroke branch is out of service but Vice President Kris Heideman assures that they are looking at all options to ensure their 26 employees continue to work and that their costumers’ needs are met. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
