Holly Hayes says “we want to interact more with the public”.

The CAO-Clerk and Treasurer of the Township of South Algonquin says that in this new term, they have modified certain committees in order to be transparent with the population. She says the Human Resources/Administration/Public Relations committee has been adapted in order to give the public a resource on any questions they may have in regards to procedures and by-laws.

They are also doing this by asking the public’s input in regards to changing the date of regular council meetings. She says the by-law states that the Township has to give the public a one month notice and they have decided to give two months notice. The changing of dates will be addressed this week and voted on at the 3rd reading on February 6th.

The next meeting will be held this Wednesday morning at the Municipal Office in Whitney at 9:00. For more information, click here.
