OPP Advice on Protecting Snowmobiles

The OPP wants you to protect your snowmobile.

Constable Shawn Peever of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says that you have to be careful when you ride, and when you park. He recommends leaving your snowmobile, ATV or tractor indoors in a locked space or garage this winter.

He also says that if you leave your machine outside, make sure it is left in a well-lit area or perhaps under a motion sensor lighting to scare away a thief. He states that it would be a great idea for owners to take extra precautions by using chains and padlocks to secure your vehicle and prevent it from being removed from your property.

Peever also mentioned to, obviously, never leave your keys in the ignition when you are away from your machine.
