MNRF To Improve Moose Hunting Allocations
The Province is taking steps to improve moose management and hunting allocations.
Jolanta Kowalski, Senior Media Relations Officer for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) says that they decided to take action after many hunters voiced their concerns on the subject.
She says the Provincial Government will be taking steps to improving the moose tag draw system to make it fairer, simpler and more accessible for hunters.
Kowalski told us that over the next two years the MNRF will be working with an advisory committee to review the application process of moose tags, how tag quotas are developed and also, how they are allocated.
She adds that during the review process, they will be open to hearing the opinion of stake holders and hunters.
