Madawaska Valley District High School students showed off their talents tonight.

The school hosted its annual Sounds of Christmas concert and it didn’t disappoint. With one of the students acting as the MC, the audience saw solo performers, duo’s and bands take the stage. Many Christmas classics were played such as A Hallelujah Christmas and Silent Night (where all of the performers came out and sang together).

Kirk Harber, music teacher and coordinator of the event says that he was very content. He says the students played their hearts out and that they had a lot of fun. He also said he can’t specify a specific highlight of the night but he says that there were many little ones. He adds that he’s seen the students evolve as musicians over some time and it’s the progression he sees that he’s mostly proud of.

Although Harber did play a tune by himself and accompany a hard rock band on the guitar, he admits that the students worked a lot harder than him. He says the show took over a month to prepare and that he thanks the community for coming out.
