The Opeongo Readers’ Theatre are presenting their last two Christmas shows.

Barry Conway, director of the club, says the group will be at the Lester B. Smith Community Centre in Whitney tonight at 7:00, to present An Opeongo Christmas. The showing will include pieces by Kenneth Grahame, Anton Chekhov and Leo Tolstoy. Conway says the piece was adapted to Whitney and Algonquin Park, especially when it comes to the imagery the listeners will get in regards to the landscapes presented.

The group will also be presenting Sweet Bells Jangle this Sunday at the Anglican Church of the Epiphany in Barry’s Bay. The show will include pieces by Mark Twain, Dylan Thomas and Henry Longfellow to name a few. In total, 8 readers will be present and he says “If you enjoy Christmas, this show’s for you”. He says the show will last approximately 90 minutes with an intermission in the middle. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Admission is free to both shows.
