The Pembroke Lumber Kings’ commentator releases his first book.

Jamie Bramburger, who’s been the team’s play-by-play commentator for 30 years, has been working hard these last two years to release “Go Kings Go!”. He says the 300 page book covers over a century of Pembroke Junior and Senior Lumber Kings history.

Bramburger says many notable NHL players and coaches have passed through Pembroke such as Hall of Famers Frank Nighbor, Hugh Lehmen, Harry Cameron as well as Bryan Murray. Among all of that, one thing he points out as being extremely special, is Pembroke’s Memorial Centre. He says its hockey lure is out of the ordinary and that the arena itself is historic.

He says there are many significant ties between hockey and the Ottawa Valley. Pembroke being one of Canada’s biggest hockey towns makes it important for the next generation to know about the towns history.

Bramburger will be appearing at a few events celebrating the release of his book. One will be at the Pembroke Memorial Centre this Sunday, December 16th at 3:00 PM. The other will be at the West End Mall in Pembroke on December 22nd. You can also purchase the book on the Burnstown Publishing House website by clicking here.
